Ollie Does It Euro Style 2007

Ron and I have coined a new slogan for Austria. It's "Hey, settle down. This isn't Mexico." Meaning: Hey, you can't just run around all god damn wild like a total asshole over here. There are rules and you're not following them.

So far we've been bitched out for stopping on a bike path, an old lady ran us down and barked at us as she zoomed by. We've been bitched at by the Viennese city cops for blowing a red light on a bike. And we've been bitched out for taking gelato and sitting down in the wrong spot or something. I couldn't quite put that last one together, regardless, we were bitched out for it.

Other people might be disappointed at the draconian adherence to the rules, but Ron and I sort of appreciate it. Whenever someone sparks off at us Ron and I thank them for informing us on how to behave in Austria and we repeat our slogan, "Hey, settle down. Austria isn't Mexico."
