A winning New Year's Day; Closing things down

Jan 2, 2008, 12:54pm | Posted by Steve

Not a bad New Year's Day of betting for me at all. Had I stayed away from the Hawaii/Georgia Sugar Bowl entirely it would have been even better, but who could predict that Colt Brennan would suffer a complete meltdown?

01/01 College Results

Capital One Bowl: Michigan (+10.5) vs. Florida - Win
Cotton Bowl: Missouri (-3 2H) vs. Arkansas - Win
Cotton Bowl: Missouri (-3) vs. Arkansas - Win
Gator Bowl: Texas Tech (-6) vs. Virginia - Loss
Gator Bowl: Texas Tech vs. Virginia (Over 14 4Q) - Win
Outback Bowl: Tennessee (-2) vs. Wisconsin - Win
Rose Bowl: Illinois (+6.5 4Q) vs. USC - Loss
Rose Bowl: Illinois vs. USC (-7 2H) - Win

Sugar Bowl: Hawaii (Davone Bess Over 8.5 receptions) vs. Georgia - Loss
Sugar Bowl: Hawaii (Ryan Grice-Mullen Over 8.5 receptions) vs. Georgia - Loss

(For final scores, see the season record page.)

I've got a lot riding on tonight's Feista Bowl, and I feel pretty good about that. I think the Sooners will shut down a leaderless West Virginia team and win convincingly. I know that Bob Stoops badly wants to erase memories of last year's Fiest Bowl.

ACTION: 01/02

Fiesta Bowl: Parlay: West Virginia vs. Oklahoma (-7 & Under 63)
Fiesta Bowl: West Virginia vs. Oklahoma (-7)
Fiesta Bowl: West Virginia vs. Oklahoma (Under 63)

Shutting things down

I don't think I'll be making any more posts, by the way. I plan to keep listing my active bets, but the task of keeping posts updated as become more of a hassle than an enjoyment, so it's time for me to move on. As of now I don't have plans to bring this blog back next fall. We'll see what comes next for Redneck High.
