Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

More small-college football

Dec 15, 2007, 11:35am | Posted by Steve

The Division I-AA championship worked out nicely for me last night, going 2-0-1 (and would have been 3-0 had the Delaware kicked not shanked an easy field goal in the first quarter). The Division III game would probably be a lot of fun to watch if it could be found on TV. Mount Union is to DIII football what the Yankees of the 1920s and 1950s were to baseball: they dominate in a big way year after year.

I expect those Purple Raiders to romp in their championship game, but I'll try and cut the numbers down just a bit and play a teaser that makes me feel good about the lines on both ends.

I've also got a play on tonight's NFL game. I'm considering adding another bet on the 49ers team total Under 17.5, but the juice on that is way higher than I like right now.

ACTION: 12/15

TEASER: DIII Champ.: Mount Union (-13.5) vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater & Over 46.5
Bengals (-8) at 49ers

I'm tacking on a couple of very small (less than a third of a unit) third-quarter plays for the Division III game. Not so much because I love the plays (hence the small amounts bet), but because there looks to be good value in the lines offered — both would pay more than was wagered. It's pretty obvious I'm going to lose my original teaser bet, but I like my chances to offset a portion of that loss with wins from one or both of these. And if they both lose, neither are large enough to cause any pain.

12/15 Added plays

DIII Champ.: Mount Union (-3.5 3Q) vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater
DIII Champ.: Mount Union vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater (Over 10 3Q)

8:38pm
The 49ers are playing way over their heads on both sides of the ball so far. I like Cincy's chances to score at least a pair of touchdowns in the second half, so I'll jump on that bet.

12/15 Added play

Bengals (team Over 14 2H) at 49ers
