Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

Back to earth with my betting

Dec 9, 2007, 12:10pm | Posted by Steve

After getting so extremely lucky last Monday night — turning a big loss into a moderate gain by making a bet I really had no business making — it's time to get serious about the NFL again. No stupid bets, no bets too large. Here's what I'm on today:

ACTION: 12/09

Browns at Jets (+3.5)
Browns at Jets (Over 47)
Chargers (+1) at Titans
Chargers (pk) at Titans
Chargers (team Over 20) at Titans
Giants (+3) at Eagles
Panthers (+11) at Jaguars
Raiders at Packers (-9.5)
Vikings (-7) at 49ers

1:38pm
It's a low-scoring game in Nashville, but the Chargers should be able to put at least a pair of scores on the board.

12/09 Added play

Chargers (team Over 9 2H) at Titans

4:50pm
After upsetting the Chargers, the Vikings have turned into a pretty darned good team. They're rolling all over the 49ers so far, and I think they'll slow things down after the half. But even grinding things out, I think they'll score at least 10 more against a bad San Francisco team.

12/09 Added play

Vikings (team Over 9 2H) at 49ers

7:05pm
Last play of the day. (Maybe. I could always change my mind and place a halftime bet if something looks good.) I'm banking on the Ravens being wiped out after coming so close to knocking off the Patriots last week, and having nothing left tonight against the Colts.

12/09 Added play

Colts (-8.5) at Ravens

9pm
With the Colts up 37-7 at the half, I'm feeling good about my full-game bet. Tony Dungy's too classy to run up the score, so I'm placing a half-unit second-half play on the Colts team Under 10.5.

12/09 Added play

Colts (team Under 10.5 2H) at Ravens
