Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

Something to do in the evening

Nov 8, 2007, 6:00pm | Posted by Steve

I've got a trio of half-unit action bets going. I won't make a lot of cash if they all turn out winners, but I also won't be out much if they fall flat, either. Just a little something to liven up a Thursday night after a hectic day at work.

ACTION: 11/08

Louisville at West Virginia (Over 64)
TCU (+7) at BYU
TCU (ML) at BYU

If any good halftime betting opportunities arise, I may play those as well.

8:43pm
Adding a second-half team total play on the Mountaineers. They have a history of exploding after the half, so I like my odds on them getting at least 21.

11/08 Added play

Louisville at West Virginia (team Over 21 2H)

9:40pm
BYU's looking like the clearly better team tonight. I'm buying off my original bet on TCU and putting a few extra dollars on the Mormons.

11/08 Added play

TCU at BYU (-3 2H)

I don't know if you listen to KVET AM in the morning (Bucky Godbolt's show) but on Fridays he has a segment where a listener calls in with 3 NFL picks and if the listener's 3 picks beat Bucky's 3 picks, the listener wins 50 wings from Pluckers. I was the listener that got through today so I feel those gambling juices flowing through me. Here are the picks I chose:

    Detroit + 1 at ARIZONA
    Cleveland + 9.5 at PITTSBURGH
    CAROLINA - 4 vs Atlanta

    Bucky's picks are:

Dallas -1 at NEW YORK GIANTS
NEW ORLEANS - 11.5 vs St. Louis
KANSAS CITY - 3 vs Denver

I'm eager to see your NFL picks this week.

Oh, man, I'll be pulling for you. I like your Detroit pick, I can see the Cleveland pick as a possible winner, and who knows about Carolina and Atlanta.

I kind of like Bucky's New Orleans pick, but I think his other two are almost coin tosses. I'm hoping to get on the Saints myself, but I would much rather see that line at -10. Don't think I'll get it, though.

You've got a pretty decent chance at winning the wings, and putting your gut through the treat/torture that is Pluckers.
