Redneck High

Today should be a good day for NFL football. I don't know how long it's been since I've looked forward to a regular-season matchup the way I have this afternoon's Patriots/Colts game. Outside the New England area, I'm sure most of America is really hoping Peyton Manning and the Colts can knock a Pats team that has developed a reputation as bullies.

I don't know if it'll happen — New England has looked scary good at times — but that's also what I'd like to see happen. Good guys beating bad guys. My numbers tell me to bet Indianapolis, but I just can't bring myself to do that. I love my bet on the Over 56, though. I think that has a fantastic shot at paying off.

I'm bumping my play on the Saints, doubling up with a second-half play at a pick 'em. The juice is much higher than I like, but they've been dominating the Jaguars statistically and really should be leading by more than 24-17. That the Jags, already starting a piss-poor scrub, are having injury problems at quarterback makes me feel even more confident.
