Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

Big bets win, small bets lose

Oct 7, 2007, 11:19am | Posted by Steve

It was a pretty decent day in college football for me yesterday, although the record itself doesn't really show that. I went 8-9 on the day, but my big bets came in winners and some of the losers were small wons. It turned out that I made a decent profit.

10/06 College Results

Arkansas St. (-2.5) at Louisiana-Monroe - Loss
Cincinnati at Rutgers (-3) - Loss
Iowa St. at Texas Tech (team Over 44.5) - Loss
Kansas at Kansas St. (-3) - Loss
Miami at North Carolina (Over 41) - Win
Ohio St. (-7) at Purdue - Win
Stanford at USC (-19.5 2H) - Loss
Stanford at USC (Over 26 2H) - Win
TCU at Wyoming (-2.5) - Win
Tulsa (-3) at UTEP - Loss
UAB (+19.5) at Mississippi St. - Win
Utah St. at Hawaii (-10 1Q) - Loss
Utah St. at Hawaii (-23 1H) - Loss
Utah St. at Hawaii (Over 34 2H) - Win
Utah St. at Hawaii (team Over 52.5) - Loss
Wake Forest at Duke (+7.5) - Win
Wisconsin at Illinois (-2.5) - Win

(For final scores, see the season record page.)

It could have been a fantastic day if a few tiny things had gone the other way:
* I had Texas Tech with a team total of Over 44.5. They finished at 42, with a scoreless third quarter.
* I had Hawaii with a team total of Over 52.5. They finished at 52, with a scoreless fourth quarter.
* Tulsa gave up a game-winning touchdown to UTEP with less than a minute to play. One defense stand would have been a winner.

I've got a handful of NFL plays working today. Let's hope my winning percentage there stays high.

ACTION: 10/07

Buccaneers at Colts (-10)
Cardinals at Rams (+3.5)
Jets at Giants (-3.5)
Lions at Redskins (Under 45)
Panthers at Saints (-3)

I'm adding a few second-half plays for the afternoon NFL games, all just single-unit wagers:

ACTION: 10/07

Buccaneers at Colts (-3 2H)
Chargers (team Over 10 2H)
Ravens at 49ers (Over 17 2H)

8:49pm
It was a good day in the NFL, going 6-2 in my picks. I'm going try and keep the roll going with a couple of second-half plays in tonight's lone college game, New Mexico State at Boise State. Both are actually just third-quarter plays, because Boise has a 35-0 lead at the half, but I don't think they'll call off the dogs until a couple of scores into that third period.

10/07 Added bets

New Mexico St. at Boise St. (-6.5 3Q)
New Mexico St. at Boise St. (Over 14 3Q)
