Redneck High

I kept hoping and hoping to get Arkansas State at -3 in tonight's game (they host lousy Memphis), but the betting began to steam in the other direction and the line moved the opposite direction from what I wanted. Arky State is currently favored by 5.5 at most books, but I was able to get them at -3.5 at one place, but at juice quite a bit higher than I like. Still, I want to play this game, so I dialed my betting back to about half of what I had originally intended to wager and put some cash on ASU.

The television game tonight is Southern Mississippi at Boise State, but I can't see any angle I like there. I'll be watching the game (played in Boise on that damned ugly blue turf) so I might add a halftime bet if I spot anything I like.

It certainly appears that Memphis could turn tonight's game into a rout. I think they'll want to slow the pace of the game in the second half, seeing as how they're up 31-6 at intermission, but they've been scoring at will on a soft Arky State defense. I expect they'll put up at least a pair of touchdowns in the second half. So I'm going to try to recoup some of my bet by playing the Memphis team total.
