The beginning of a long season
It's not been a bad start to the season, with my first three bets going 2-1. I wouldn't be unhappy with that ratio over the course of the next several months. Most of my bets don't come into play until later this afternoon, but I've added one second-half play on the Marshall/Miami game, taking the Hurricanes at -7 after intermission. It looks like the 'Canes overall edge in athleticism is beginning to show and I expect that'll become more pronounced as the game goes on. Miami will pull away in the second half, I believe.
9/1 ADDED PLAY
Marshall at Miami (-7 2H)
Here are the three bets I've had settled aleady:
8/30-31 RESULTS
Kent St. at Iowa St. (-3.5) - Loss
Navy (-12.5 1H) at Temple - Win
Washington (-3) at Syracuse - Win
(For final scores, see the season record page.)

Did you see that Illinois is a 4.5 point dog. At home. Against Missouri?! If I were a gambling man I would be all over that one.

I saw that line, but I don't trust Missouri one way or the other. They're just too erratic. On paper they ought to be a pretty decent team, then they'll come out and play like scared kids sometimes. It's tough to bet a game with an inconsistent team, either betting against them or on them.
I think the game is on a neutral field, though.
How about those Michigan Wolverines?
