ACTION: College football's opening weekend
My first batch of plays for the 2007 season (and I'm happy it's finally here). I'm very much putting up a chalkboard this week, but that's often a smart thing to do in early games.
8/30-9/1 Action
Kent St. at Iowa St. (-3.5)
Navy (-12.5 1H) at Temple
Washington (-3) at Syracuse
Arkansas St. at Texas (-38)
Arkansas St. at Texas (Over 27.5 1H)
North Texas at Oklahoma (Under 56)
W. Michigan at West Virginia (-13.5 1H)
I'm still watching as the Texas/Arkansas State line creeps up. If it reaches the point where the Longhorns go to -42, I'll likely put another bet on Arky State and shoot for a middle. I expect a score of right around 45-7, with most of Texas' scoring coming in the first 2 1/2 quarters.
I'm also keeping an eye on the TCU/Baylor total, hoping it'll spike up to 49. If it does that, I'll bet the Under. The Frogs always have a very good defense and Baylor is going to be lost offensively. I want that 49, though, in case TCU gets hot and starts to run up the score. Even if that happens, I don't think there will be more than 7 touchdowns in the game.
I've been tempted to bump my 1H West Virginia play up to two units, but it's probably wiser in Week 1 to leave things as they are and just watch the first batch of games. It's a long season. I can press units later on.
