Hoping to keep rolling on Saturday
The last week has been good for me, so let's home the hot spell continues over the weekend. Right now I've got four plays going on Saturday — a 2-unit bet on the Texas game — but I'm watching one more, and will probably play it. I'm just hoping for the line on Baylor to drop to -3 (it's currently at -3.5) to save me from having to buy the hook.
NOTE ADDED AT 10:15am: The juice on the Baylor game dropped far enough that I didn't mind buying the hook. So I've added Baylor -3 as a bet.
3:40pm ADDED BET: San Diego State is absolutely horrible. I"ll go with Air Force to roll over them.
3:10pm ADDED 2nd-HALF BET: TCU is dominating Army. I'll go with them to keep it up after the half.
6pm ADDED BET: Texas A&M, those damned Aggies, are starting to play better football. I'll go with them over an up-and-down Oklahoma State.
Here's what I'm looking at for Oct. 21 action:
ACTION
10/21 Texas (-6) at Nebraska, 2 units
10/21 Boston College (+7) at Florida St.
10/21 Kansas at Baylor (-3)
10/21 Texas Tech (-1) at Iowa St.
10/21 Wisconsin (-6) at Purdue
10/21 Air Force (-12) at San Diego State
10/21, 2nd Half, TCU (-3) at Army
10/21 Texas A&M (+2.5) at Oklahoma State
Lean
10/21 Louisville (-17.5) at Syracuse
10/21 UTEP at Houston, Over 61
I'll probably have one or two or three NFL bets for Sunday. If so, I'll post later.
Contrarian plays
Greg the Contrarian, lover of underdogs, gives his contra-Steve system picks for the week:I would eagerly bet:
1. A rebuilding Nebraska +6 at home against any team with a freshman quarterback who has never played on the road. [NOTE FROM STEVE: Note that Gregg phrased it as "any team." He couldn't bring himself to say out-and-out that he's betting against Texas.]
2. Iowa State +1 at home against a Texas Tech team that did not score a touchdown against two-loss TCU and also provided CU its only win.
3. Purdue +6 at home against Wisconsin. Just to be contrarian.
See the Glossary/FAQ page for definitions of terms and numbers.

Dad-blast it Steve, you're backsliding.
I would eagerly bet:
1) A rebuilding Nebraska + 6 at home against any team with a freshman quarterback who has never played on the road.
2) Iowa State +1 at home against a Texas Tech team that did not score a touchdown against two-loss TCU and also provided CU its only win.
3) Purdue + 6 at home. Just to be contrarian.
