Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

Hoping it's the start of something good

Oct 14, 2006, 11:49am | Posted by Steve

After such a rough two weeks, it was nice to win three in a row again Thursday and Friday nights. I feel very good about my Saturday picks this week, so I'll hope this marks the beginning of a very hot streak.

ACTION

10/14 Cincinnati (+27) at Louisville

10/14 Texas Tech at Colorado (+8)

10/14 Texas Tech at Colorado (ML)

10/14 Nebraska (-8.5) at Kansas St.

10/14 Cal (-8) at Washington St.

10/14 Baylor at Texas, Over 48 - 2 units

Of the bets listed above, my favorite is the Baylor/Texas Over 48, which I made a 2-unit play. I think Texas probably covers that all by themselves, as this game should be a blowout. I would lean on Texas -27 during the game, but that's just too many points for me to lay this week.

You'll notice there are fewer picks this week than what I have been making. This is all part of my "Reloaded" strategy.

A few leans, however, for those who might be interested:

Leans

10/14 Hawaii (-4) at Fresno State

10/14 Houston (+2) at Southern Mississippi

10/14 Baylor at Texas, Texas Over 37

This week for Gregg the Contrarian

Gregg gives his weekly thoughts:

For today, my contra-Steve, love-the-dog strategy makes me take:

Washington State + 8 against Cal

I'm OK with that but I sure don't like…

Kansas State + 8.5 against Nebraska

Rules are rules, though, so I'm stuck cheering for a terrible Ks St team.

You can go ahead and start spending your winnings on the "over 48" on Texas-Baylor. What a no-brainer.

If I were gambling today, my two dogs to cheer on would be:

Syracuse + 25 against West Virginia

W. Va is terribly overrated and Syracuse is improving.

Tx A&M + 2 against Missouri

How can 5-1 A&M not give up points to a team that has been a joke for decades? At home! Mo's only "quality win" was against a Texas Tech team that failed to score a touchdown against a TCU team with two losses.

Think you can break even this season or make a little profit?

I think so. The streak I hit over the last few days put me right back in the fight. I just have to make sure to play only the games I'm most confident about, and not spread cash all around games just for fun.
