Tracking my 2007 fantasy football picks

I can't believe this NFL streak I'm on. Of my last 6 bets, I've lost all of them, and many in odd ways. Not only did an overtime touchdown, a safety and a 103-yard kickoff return contribute to my losses yesterday, but today I lost on dropped passes and a backup quarterback getting trash time play.

I had bet that Brett Favre would pass for more than 259.5 yards against the Eagles, and it certainly looked good for most of the game. Then, in the third quarter, Packer receivers began to drop everything that hit their hands. I bet there were 50 yards of passes that clunked off their hands.

Even with all that, I still had a fighting chance going into Green Bay's last two possessions. Favre had 199 yards, and tacking on 61 more with the time remaining wouldn't be a tremendous feat. Instead Favre hit only a couple of dink passes, then took a tough shot from a defender. After that, with me needing only 55 yards to win my bet, his backup entered the 31-9 game to mop up.

10/2 RESULTS

Brett Favre passing yards, Over 259.5 (Packers at Eagles) - Loss, $39

Good grief, things have turned cold for me. I haven't caught any breaks lately. I'll stay optimistic that things will turn around beginning with the college plays I have coming on Thursday.
