It hit me, the dreaded "Bad Weekend"
After having such a good run on NFL games over the first three weeks of the season, there was bound to be a bad streak on pro picks coming. It hit this weekend, and hit hard. 0-5 on NFL games, including one loss that was a 3-unit bet. None of the losses were easy to take, either. Two were pure chokes (the Chargers and Vikings), one was a winner, but not by enough (Colts) and the others both came on an overtime loss (Jaguars).
It was a tough day, and one that puts me in negative territory for the season. But, on the other hand, I feel kind of glad to have gotten my really bad day out of the way. Now I feel like the rest of the season will be more predictable.
10/1 RESULTS
Chargers (-2.5) at Ravens - Loss, $22
Vikings (+1) at Bills - Loss, $20
Colts (-7) at Jets - Loss, $24
Jaguars (-3) at Redskins - Loss, $20
Jaguars (-2.5) at Redskins - Loss $64.80
Upping my base bet
Now that September is over, I'm bumping up my base bet from $20 to $30. It seems like chasing profits now, but I had already planned to do this before today's losses. In fact, the one Oct. 5 college bet I placed this morning was for $30. If next weekend is not a good one, I'll back off on my bet amount.
