Picks from the Contrarian
Good friend Greg the Contrarian weighs in with his thoughts on weekend games.
My "contra-Steve, love-the-dog" strategy leaves Iowa +7 as my only "bet" this week. But I like it. Iowa at home as a dog is OK.
Being that I am a lover of dogs and a homer for Texas schools, I would place these bets:
Rice (+11) at Army
Rice was respectable against UCLA, and 11 points is a lot for Army to give up.
Houston (+16.5) at Miami
Houston is not bad and Miami is reeling. Plus, it might rain.
Kansas State at Baylor (+1.5)
Baylor is close to breaking through and Kansas State is quickly reverting to its pre-Snyder status.
Texas Tech (+2) at Texas A&M
I just can't believe this A&M team is giving points, especially against Tech.

My "contra-Steve" strategy failed me in the Ohio State game. The fact that you were so confident about Ohio State that you bet 3 times should have been telling. However, all four of my "Steve-free, go-dog-go" picks were winners with 3 of the dogs winning their games outright. 4 and 1 isn't a bad weekend. Wish I had put real money down.

I know, man. Your pretend record has been impressive. Maybe it's good karma to root for underdogs.
