Redneck High

I've been looking hard for value in the lines this week, and haven't been finding much. Still, I'm going to keep scouring the lines and watching for moves. Here are the plays that have caught my attention so far in both college and NFL, but very few of the items listed below seem real strong:

BYU at TCU (-5.5)

BYU at TCU, Under 47

I really like the Frogs, and think they're an excellent team. Still, it's their defense that has been winning for them, and they're not putting up lots of points. At 3 points I'd jump on TCU, but 5.5 isn't nearly as compelling. I'm not ruling it out, but I'm very much hoping steam starts coming in on BYU.

Rutgers (-4) at South Florida

Yeah, yeah, I know they're improved, but they're still Rutgers. And I don't know that I'll ever be confident enough to bet on Rutgers.

Colorado at Missouri, Under 38.5

Just because the CU offense sucks, don't make the mistake of thinking there's anything wrong with their defense. It's strong. And Mizzou's D has allowed the fewest yards per game out of anyone. This looks tempting enough that I might put a bet down tonight, even.

Purdue (+14) at Notre Dame

I'm not sure the Irish are 14 points better than anyone right now.

Houston at Miami, Over 48.5

Miami is soft against the pass, which is Houston's bread and butter. Meanwhile Houston's defense is soft against everything.

Ohio State (-6.5) at Iowa

I'm already on Ohio State with a 1-unit bet at -7, and I'm tempted to double up now that the line has dropped a half-point. If it falls one more half, I'm almost positive I will. Wouldn't rule out even making it a triple-unit bet.

Washington (+3) at Arizona

Washington really impressed me last me when they cost me money by knocking off UCLA. Arizona hasn't impressed me at all. And I include fashion in that statement — those red jerseys look like what quarterbacks wear in practice.

Chargers (-2.5) at Ravens

Vikings (+1) at Bills

Jaguars (-3) at Redskins
