Redneck High

I've already placed one bet for the week, because I feel like the line that has Miami as an underdog against Louisville is going to drop as the week goes by, and now I've started looking at other interesting matchups. I'm not putting any money down on any of these yet, but so far this is what has caught me eye for consideration:

Thursday

Maryland at West Virginia (-16.5)

Maryland at West Virginia (Over 47)

The line on the Moutaineers has already moved up a couple of points. I was very interested at 14.5, not so much at 16.5, but I'll watch it as the week goes by. The Over-47 might be the better bet, as West Virginia may very well be looking to run up the score on the solo Thursday-night national broadcast, especially if coach Rich Rodriguez feels his team is being overshadowed by glamour boys like Notre Dame, USC and Florida.

Saturday

Cincinnati at Ohio State (-30)

Cincinnati at Ohio State (Over 45)

Michigan at Notre Dame (-6.5)

Oklahoma (+4.5) at Oregon

Clemson at Florida State (-4)

Cincinnati looked terrible against Pitt — only Pitt also being lousy saved it from being a blowout. Ohio State held Texas to only a touchdown, they could easily blank Cincy. And score 50 themselves barely breaking a sweat.

I'm also getting close to thinking this Notre Dame team is for real. It's most likely I won't bet this game — if I do, I'm leaning toward the Irish — but one more strong performance and I might believe.

Oklahoma isn't as down as I thought they might be this season, and Florida State got an embarassment scare against Troy and now looks to finally have a fire lit beneath them.

I'll keep watching for line movements and team information, and post plays here as I make them.
